Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD


Harville Hendrix, PhD and Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD are partners in life and work. They co-created Imago Relationship Therapy, co-authored 10 books on intimate partnerships including three NY Times best sellers, and co-founded the non-profit Imago Relationships International which has trained over 2500 Imago therapists in 51 countries. Recently, they co-founded Relationships First which distributes Safe Conversations technology to facilitate the development of a relational culture.
Harville earned his PhD in Psychology and Theology from the University of Chicago, received an honorary doctorate from Mercer University and many other awards for his 50+ years as a clinician, author, trainer, and public speaker.
Helen earned her PhD from Union Theological Seminary, NY, in Women’s Studies. For her contribution to the women’s movement, she received an honorary doctorate from Southern Methodist Seminary, along with other distinctive awards, was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame. They live in Dallas and NY and have six children and six grandchildren.
